concept of a family house
concept year: 2024
This 380-square-metre family home pairs a low, horizontal profile with interiors that open onto the surrounding garden. Exposed concrete surfaces frame broad expanses of glazing, balancing privacy with views of the landscape. Vertical timber slats brings rhythm and enclosure to the entrance façade, while the backside elevation opens onto a terrace and linear swimming pool, using water as a tool to extend the building’s geometry.
Inside, timber, mineral finishes and muted tones form a calm, neutral material palette. Wall panelling and integrated cabinetry define functional areas while maintaining continuity between rooms. A generous ceiling height and natural light shape the living space, while timber surfaces and soft textiles create a more intimate setting in the bedroom.
Terraces, glazed openings and planted roof areas create gradual transitions between the house and garden. Throughout the project, light, water and material textures establish a quiet homely atmosphere that responds to the changing landscape.
